On 22.-23.3. we participated in the 13th annual North Bohemian Algeziological Days in Ústí nad Labem. The theme of the conference was pharmacotherapy with motto: The opiates are not always the best choice of medication.
The main lecturer was MUDr. Jan Procházka, Ph. D. from the Center for the Treatment of Chronic Pain at Clinic Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Intensive Medicine, Faculty of Medical Studies of the University of J. University of Medicine. E. Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem. MUDr. The conference emphasized the importance of cannabis, which in many cases offers a very high quality choice for supportive treatment.
Our company Unique Therapeutics Global s.r.o. had the opportunity to introduce its products, meet already with the co-working doctors and establish a number of interesting contacts. At the conference we had a prom stand with exposed products and colleagues Jakub Kryšpín with the owner of Radek Hlaváček, we were willing to explain the form and effects of our products to the doctors. One of the founding members of Unique Therapeutics, a Canadian company based in Ústí nad Labem, the city where Radek lived until he was 19 years old. As an immigrant he moved to Switzerland and later to Canada, where he has lived with his wife since 1991. He started cultivating cannabis and using the flowers and extracts of Cannabis for medical purposes in 2000 after obtaining his MMAR License (Marijuana Medical Access Regulations).
Ivana Bednářová has twenty years of experience in sales, marketing and public relations, having held senior positions in a number of international companies during her career. Within her own marketing and PR agency, she founded and led several successful projects related to healthy lifestyle and international certification of food supplements and food. A graduate of Anglo American University with a degree in Economics, she has three children and her hobbies include sports, travel and gastronomy.
As the Chief Science and Technology Officer at Unique Therapeutics, Liam is responsible for the development, testing, manufacturing and compliance of our manufacturing processes as well as day-to-day operations. Ranjit S. Bhardwaj after studying biomedical sciences in immunology, cancer immunobiology and regenerative medicine has specialized and qualified in cancer immunobiology and regenerative medicine, cellular and molecular pathology. Dr. Ranjit Bhardwaj is active in a network of cannabis physicians and prescribers, is involved in clinical research projects at universities and R&D forums in Germany and abroad, and holds corporate advisory roles in the medical and pharmaceutical industry.
Jakub Kryšpín is an expert in cannabis treatment. Since 2013 he has been successfully treating with the help of Phoenix Tears. Since 2021, he has continued his work in healing and scientific knowledge in cooperation with our company, focusing primarily on the treatment of oncological, but also neurodegenerative, autoimmune diseases and other diseases that somehow affect the human endocannabinoid system. Jakub has been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 2006 and was once in a wheelchair. He claims that cannabis is the most important herb on planet Earth, given its wide range of uses.
Miloš Podolský became a new member of the Unique Therapeutics Global team in 2024. Miloš's experience in international sales and marketing has become a welcome asset not only for the company. Unique, but also for our international partners. Unique Therapeutics Global has its roots and experience in Canada where the founding members of Unique have been involved since 2012 in the development of cannabis legalization legislation and conditions for cultivation and processing of medical cannabis. This experience and knowledge helps us to establish cooperation with foreign partners who are thinking about legalization and medical cannabis in their country or are only in the beginning. By combining the many years of knowledge of our company and the business experience of Milos Podolski, we are able to offer a wide range of options both in terms of legislation and production. Current research on CBD shows that cannabis could help African nations with the disease sickle cell anemia. Meetings held with Ugandan government officials in October 2024 have provided the impetus and foundation for the preparation of clinical trials to test the efficacy of Unique Therapeutics' liposomal formulations in the treatment of Sickle Cell Disease. Johnny will be our coordinator and representative in Uganda. His role is to prepare the conditions for the clinical trial, conduct the clinical trial in collaboration with the collaborating university hospital and the Ministry of Health. We hope that our data will confirm the efficacy of Unique T products in the treatment, Unique T will ensure the production and distribution of the drug product in Uganda.
